EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
ABOUT OUR COOKIE CUTTERS
OUR COOKIE CUTTERS ARE:
- Dishwasher safe
- Made from food-safe plastic
- Have sharp cutting edges
- Have easy grip edges
- Locally made & proudly South African
- Individually designed, tried & tested
OUR COOKIE CUTTERS ARE NOT:
- To be used on direct heat. (for instance, using them as pancake molds on a frying pan or placing them in an oven)
- To be left in direct sunlight as this can cause or bright colours to fade.
TYPES OF CUTTERS
We have three main types of cutters, shown above.
OUTLINE COOKIE CUTTERS
This only cuts the dough and does not stamp in any detail.
This allows the user to flood the cookie and ice in their own detail.
DETAILED COOKIE CUTTERS
This detailed cutter simultaneously cuts and stamps the dough, resulting in an imprint of the character’s detail on the dough.
This is perfect for quickly making beautiful looking cookies.
The detail also provides guidelines for icing in character details.
TWO PART COOKIE CUTTERS
This comes in two separate pieces. There is an outline and a separate stamp.
The outline can be used by itself to produce a plain outline cookie or the stamp can be pushed through/inserted into the outline cutter for a detailed cookie.
The advantage of this product is that it can be used on any dough thickness and works well on fondant/plastic icing.
SKILL LEVEL
We have three different cookie cutter skill levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. For both intermediate and advanced, more experience in baking is needed and it is recommended that generous amounts of both cook ‘n spray and flour are used to coat these types of cutters.
HOW TO USE OUR CUTTERS
Spray generously with Spray ‘n Cook before use or alternatively dust with plenty of flour. Keep applying a coating of spray or flour every so often as you use the cutter multiple times to cut out cookies.
WHAT DOUGH TO USE
We recommend using sugar cookie dough for best results.
You can try this recipe, which we personally love.
RECYCLING
At Imagination Lab we are very big on recycling. Any cookie cutters that don’t make it through our strict quality control process are either donated to local primary schools and creches or are recycled into new cookie cutters.
Please do not throw away your cutters if you no longer need them. You are welcome to return them to us and we will handle the recycling of them.
Alternatively, we encourage you to donate them to your local play centres, since the little ones love using them as play dough cutters.
